Bonus: WHY use complementary colors?
An unscientific artist's explanation
BONUS COLOR TUTORIAL today!
Since it’s my birthday month I warned ya that I’d be adding goodies. And when I rediscovered this old color wheel in a drawer — that had mom’s handwriting on it! — I knew what I’d add as a bonus discussion this week!
The use of complementary colors is something I’ve had a few requests for a little deeper dive into, and that’s what we’ll do today. In several mediums. Watch the video, and pop over to YouTube to leave mama a thumbs up!
I wish I’d found this and asked her about her notes before she passed away. But I’m excited enough to see something in her handwriting, I’m not sure it matters if I understand what she was noting.
I have another of these color wheels - it’s similar and fancier, but has the spinny wheels on both back and front, but redesigned with clearer information. Worth having!
